How to Make Running Records “Run” Your Instruction—Participants will learn how to apply Running Record data to guide their small group instruction. In-depth analysis of Running Records and decisions made looking at data allows teachers to see the strategies a student uses to make meaning. This is a pre-cursor to the Power Packed Small Groups session.
Power Packed Small Groups—Small group time is precious so we need to make the most of those minutes. Participants will experience activities and strategies to make their small group time powerful! Participants will also learn tips for managing and organizing resources and student data.
Using Mentor Texts for Interactive Read-Aloud—Interactive Read-Aloud is a powerful component of a literacy classroom. Participants will see modeled lessons using mentor texts showing how to actively engage students. Time will be given for book selection and lesson planning.
